यह मंदिर 11/12 शताब्दी के आसपास चोल वंश द्वारा बनाया गया था और फिर होयसल और विजयनगर राजाओं द्वारा पुनर्निर्मित किया गया था। ग्रामीणों के अनुसार, मंदिर 19/20 सदी तक लोगों के लिए प्रार्थना करने के लिए खुला था। बाद में अज्ञात कारणों से इसे बंद कर दिया गया और मंदिर बहुत कम ही खुलता था। हमने विजयादशमी (14 अक्टूबर, 2021) से सभी वनस्पतियों , कोब जाले आदि की सफाई के बाद मंदिर को फिर से खोल दिया। . अब ग्रामीणों की मदद से प्रतिदिन मंदिर खोलने की व्यवस्था की गई और इस पूरे कार्तिक मास की विशेष पूजा की जा रही है.
This is the front view of the present temple.

It can be seen that rooftops are loose, undergrowth and weeds.
In front of the temple there is a cavalry tree
The iron door is temporarily built as there is no main entrance in the temple.
The carvings on the four pillars in front of the temple can be seen in all four directions. It is noticeable that such a pillar is scattered.
ದ ೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಮುಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಾಲ್ಕೂ ಕಂಬಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಿರುವ ಕೆತ್ತನೆಯ ವೈಶಿಷ್ಟ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಾಲ್ಕೂ ದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣ್ತುಂಬಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಕಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಡಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಬಹುದು.

Right side of the temple [south side]
ಇದು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಬಲಭಾಗದ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು.
ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ಸುತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಕಾರದ ಗೋಡೆಗಳು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಹಾಳಾಗಿರುವ ದೃಶ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು.
These are the sights on the right side of the temple. The south-facing wraparound walls can be seen completely ruined.
ತದನಂತರ ಇದನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟೆಗೆ ಇಂದ ಪುನರ್ನಿರ್ಮಿ ಸಿರುವುದು (ಚಿತ್ರ 3)ಮತ್ತು ಮಳೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಶಿಥಿಲಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದು ಗೋಚರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Left side of the temple [north side]
ಇದು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಎಡಭಾಗದ ತುಣುಕುಗಳು. ಇದು ಉತ್ತರ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ಗೋಡೆಗಳು ಅವಸಾನಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ

The left wall (Figure 8 and 9) is more damaged than the right. The walls of the courtyard are built of rocks and are completely destroyed. Algae can be seen scattered due to rain.

The back of the temple [west side]
ಇದು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಹಿಂಭಾಗದ ಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ಗೋಡೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ಗರ್ಭಗುಡಿಯ ಹಿಂಭಾಗವೂ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಚಪ್ಪಡಿಗಳು ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಸಡಿಲಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು.
ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಗೋಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಲಿಖಿತ ಶಾಸನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು.
ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಕಳ್ಳಕಾಕರ ಕಾಟ, ಕಿಡಿಗೇಡಿಗಳ ಉಪಟಳ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಭದ್ರತೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ

ಇದು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಒಳಾಂಗಣ ದೃಶ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಗರ್ಭಗುಡಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪ್ರಾಕಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿನ ಗೋಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಮೇಲ್ಛಾವಣಿಯ ಚಪ್ಪಡಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ,ದೊಡ್ಡ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಧುಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ. ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪರಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ವಾರದ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳು, ನೆಲಹಾಸು ಕಾಣಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ

ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ 2ನೇ ಪ್ರಾಕಾರದ ಒಳಾಂಗಣ ದೃಶ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು. ಕನ್ನಹಾಕಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕವಾಗಿ ಭದ್ರತೆಯ ವ್ ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿರುವ ದೃಶ್ಯ ಕಾಣಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಡಿಲಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಛಾವಣಿ,ಕಂಬಗಳು ಅಂಕಣದ ದುಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.
