History

ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಸುಮಾರು 11/12 ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಚೋಳ ರಾಜವಂಶದಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ನಂತರ ಹೊಯ್ಸಳ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಜಯನಗರ ರಾಜರಿಂದ ನವೀಕರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.  ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, 19/20 ಶತಮಾನದವರೆಗೂ ಜನರು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಲು ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ನಂತರ ಅಜ್ಞಾತ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ವಿರಳವಾಗಿ ತೆರೆಯಲಾಯಿತು.ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳು, ಜೇಡರ ಬಲೆಗಳು ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ನಾವು ವಿಜಯದಶಮಿ (14 ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್, 2021) ರಿಂದ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ತೆರೆಯುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಇದೀಗ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರ ನೆರವಿನಿಂದ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ತೆರೆಯಲು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಇಡೀ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ ಮಾಸದಂದು ವಿಶೇಷ ಪೂಜೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

This temple which was built around 11/12 century by chola dynasty and then renovated by Hoysala and Vijayanagar kings. As per villagers, temple was open for people to pray till 19/20 century.  Later it was closed because of unknown reasons and the  temple was opened very rarely.  We reopened the temple from Vijayadashami (14 Oct, 2021) after cleaning all the vegetations, cob webs, etc. .   Now with the help of the villagers, made arrangements to open the temple daily and special puja is being performed on this whole Karthika masa.
